Urban Design Field Trip 2021

In July, we decided to take a couple of days out of the office to see some interesting residential schemes around the country. We visited various schemes in and around Cambridge - Northstowe, Great Kneighton, Marmalade Lane, Trumpington Meadows, and the Stirling Prize winning Accordia. We were pleased that Richard O’Brien, Design Director of our client Northstone was able to join us for the day in Cambridge.

After that, we travelled south to Dorset and stayed the night in Blandford Forum before taking a trip round Poundbury the following day.

While we may have been a little over ambitious with the amount we tried to see, and got home feeling exhausted, we had a great time. This sort of trip can be really helpful to get everyone in the team to experience different places and approaches to residential neighbourhoods, but it’s also a great social occasion and team-building event. Hopefully we’ll get to do something similar next year…
